How To Get Me To Wear A Skirt
NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION, I WILL EXPLAIN HOW. You may remember that I will be running the Disneyland Dumbo Double Dare to raise money for the Lazarex Cancer Foundation. We’re getting down to the wire on the fundraising, and I still need your help to reach my goal. So let’s up the stakes.
You can read about the details of Lazarex in my previous post, but suffice to say that they do awesome work and all donated funds go to patient services (not to administrative costs). My goal is to raise $1500 by August 18th, and there’s a long way to go to get there. I know that some of you have been putting off contributing, or were going to and then forgot. That’s OK, because here’s your chance. And you can use it to make me dress up.
If I reach my goal of $1500 on time, I will wear a (running) costume of Marcy’s choice for the 10K on Saturday. Chances are she’ll pick a Disney prince (like this Prince Charming), but with Marcy you never know. My only requirement is that it be designed for running. And yes, there will be pictures and I will post them.
But why stop there? If I reach $2000 by August 18th, I will also wear a sparkly skirt for the half marathon on Sunday. That means one of these lovely numbers from Team Sparkle. And if you donate $500 to Lazarex, you get to pick the color. If, by some chance, two of you donate that amount, we’ll add on some lovely racing wings as well, so you both get a shot. And yes, there will be pictures as well.
What are you waiting for? Click through right here and donate a little to cancer patients to get me to dress up! Remember, you can donate any amount you want, from $5 on up. The amounts that they have listed with names are just suggestions, but you can enter in anything you like. You also don’t have to donate using a credit card online. You can print out a donation form and mail it in, as long as it gets there before the deadline. So share this post with anyone you want to get me into a skirt!
If you have any questions please send me an email. You can find out more about Lazarex Cancer Foundation at their website www.lazarex.org. To find out more about Team for Life, please visit the Team for Life website at www.teamforlifelcf.org.
